How to determine an acidic or base substances by their name?
if it has acid in tne end, then it's probably an acid. Lol Such as hydrochloric acid, or bromic acid....
How about potassium oxide?
it is basic oxide
Are you talking in terms of inorganic acids/ bases? I would argue that potassium oxide is not an acid.
Question says; which if the following is an acidic? A. Ammonia B. potassium Oxide C. Carbon dioxide D. Sodium hydroxide -From my understanding, ammonia and sodium hydroxide are alkaline/base. what are the other two?
carbon dioxide is acidic :)
Explain please... :D
bcoz with water it forms the carbonic acid :)
since it dont have ability to donate protons it cant be a bronsted acid but it can be a lewis acid having tendency to accept electrons :)
got it:)
