what is the difference between reversible and irreversible changes?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Reversible changes can be reversed? And irreversible changes cannot be reversed? Just a guess. :P

If you're talking about reactions, irreversible reactions react until all of the reactants are used up and are changed into products. With a reversible reaction, the reactants produce products but are not at an equilibrium. The product then decays back to the reactants and they go back and forth until they have reached an equilibrium. In an irreversible reaction there is an arrow pointing like this --->, but in the reversible reaction the sign looks like this <---->. Hope this helps! :)
