So I need a bit of help. I am a bit confuzzled...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Can you insert like \(\sec, \csc , \cot\) on a calculator?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@ParthKohli @AravindG @saifoo.khan @satellite73 @jim_thompson5910 @experimentX @.Sam. @UnkleRhaukus @whpalmer4 @RadEn @thomaster

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Like in a type of calculator? Especially in a Scientific calculator.

OpenStudy (experimentx):

just put 1/sin, 1/cos,1/tan if you don't have those button

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I have seen a button for \[\sin, \tan, \cos\] and \[\sin^{-1}, \cos^{-1}, \tan^{-1}\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@experimentX yeah that is what I thought, but i was wondering if there was a calculator out there that had a function for those specific trig functions.

OpenStudy (raden):

another way is , like you want find csc30 we knowed that csc = 1/sin so, first push 30 then sin, get the result, and then push 1/x (it means the reciprocal of sin30)

OpenStudy (raden):

you will get it is 2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so what would be x?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what sin30 is right?

OpenStudy (raden):

have you tried this before :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[\sin (30) = \frac{ 1 }{ 2 }\] then: \[\frac{ 1 }{ x } = \frac{ 1 }{ \frac{ 1 }{ 2 } } = 2\]

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

Even the Ti-36x Pro, which has an insane number of buttons, does not do those directly. Let me look at the TRi-nSpire. Do not see them there either and that thing has tons of extra functions I rarely use. I think calculators rely on you knowung how to use the \(\frac{1}{\square}\) key to get these.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@e.mccormick you have a TRi-nSpire?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

THANK YOU ALL :)

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

No R. Just Ti... poor typing skills. =P

OpenStudy (experimentx):

similarly to calculate arccsc(x) ... just calculate arcsin(1/x)
