How many different 3d states does the hydrogen atom have?

thomaster (thomaster):

Do you mean 3d radial probabilities of hydrogen? http://hyperphysics.phy-astr.gsu.edu/hbase/hydwf.html

OpenStudy (abb0t):

The hydrogen atom has a full set of atomic orbitals ie 1s, 2s, 2p, 3s, 3p, 3d etc. etc hwoever, only the lowest level contains an electron in the ground state. NOTE: all solutions to the wave equation are all based on hydrogen orbitals. Anything above more than one electron and the equations rapidly become far too complex to solve, hence why shcrodinger equation has not been solved.
