What is the empirical formula of anthracene?

thomaster (thomaster):

An example on how to determine the empirical formula: Let's say we have \(\sf C_2H_4O_2\), you can divide every subscript by 2 so you'll get \(\sf CH_2O\). You cannot divide any further. For \(\sf H_2O\), the empirical formula will be \(\sf H_2O\) because you cannot divide the Oxygen. Anothe one: \(\sf C_{16}H_{36}O_{20}N_{12}\) (just an example) Find the largest number where you can divide the subscripts by. In this case thats 4. So the empirical formula will be\(\sf C_{4}H_{9}O_{5}N_{3}\) So now you do the same for anthracene \(\sf (C_{14}H_{10})\)

@Ryaan did you already solve it?
