two large horizontal metal plates are separated by 4mm. the lower plate isat a potential of -6v. what potential should be applied to the upper plate to create filed strength of 4000v/m upwards in the space between the plates

Since E field is upwards ,therefore upper plate is at lower potential than the lower plate.. Let the potential of upper plate is V. Magnitude of potential difference between the plates = -4-V E = (-4-V) / 4 mm Put the given value of E and find V.
Sorry, it is -6 instead of -4
thanks but what i got was -10. am i correct?
Wait, it should be -22. With -10 ,we will get only 1000V/m electric field.
