How much is her average gross for a week?

Well READ it!!! The answer to my question is written right there!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay the average is 17 then.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No. That's how many hours she works per week. She makes $25 for each hour she works. So how much money does she make if she works 17 hours at $25/hr ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

425?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

CORRECT!!! :-) And that is called her "gross" earnings for a week. "Gross" means "before taxes". So now we have to figure how much she owes, which is 15.02% "Percent" means "hundredths". So 15% is 15/100 or .15 15.02% may also be written as .1502, an that is the number you use to multiply her gross with. IOW: FICA amount = .1502 * 425
