If we had an equation like \(x-5=1\), how would you solve for \(x\)?
move -5 over to the other side of the equal side and add to the 1
\[\left[\begin{matrix}a & b \\ c & d\end{matrix}\right] - \left[\begin{matrix}e & f \\ g & h\end{matrix}\right] = \left[\begin{matrix}(a - e) & (b - f) \\ (c - g) & (d - h)\end{matrix}\right]\]
@selenamalter elaborate what you mean by 'moving' \(-5\)? Do you *add* \(5\) to both sides?

yes
okay, so im thinking it would be |dw:1371013705255:dw|
@selenamalter use the same approach here :-) Because we're subtracting that matrix from \(x\), to get \(x\) alone, we're going to *add* it to both sides! Do you know how to add matrices?
