hey guys can you help me how to change energy into Mev

OpenStudy (anonymous):

can any one answer my question please..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Mev is mega electron volts?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

1eV is by definition the amount of energy gained by the electron when accelerated throug a potential of 1V if you let an electron accelerate through a potential difference of 1V, the energy gained by the electron = work by the field = qV = 1.6 X 10^-19 J hence.. 1eV = 1.6 X 10^ -19 J or 1MeV = 1.6 X 10^ -19 X 10^6 = -1.6 X 10^-13J so 1 J = 1/ (1.6 X 10^-13) MeV

f during the radioactive decay of cobalt -60 , a gamma ray with 1.33 MeV energy is released. calculate the decrease in mass(in kg) of cobalt-60 nucleus as result of this emission. can you explain this?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Find the energy in Joules, then use Einstiens equation E = mC^2 and calculate m

OpenStudy (anonymous):

that is in Mev how i change that into J

OpenStudy (anonymous):

can you work out that please.
