OpenStudy (dream95):

The density of 95% by mass of sulphuric acid is 1.84gmL-1 What is the molarity of H2SO4?

OpenStudy (dream95):

Any idea on how to convert it?

OpenStudy (chmvijay):

[(% x d) / MW] x 10 = Molarity where % is =95 % MW = molecular weight of H2SO4 d= density = 1.84

OpenStudy (jfraser):

the 95% is by mass, so 100g of acid contains 95g of H2SO4. Use that, and the density, to convert to g/mL, then mol/L

OpenStudy (dream95):

Is it 0.18moldm-3?

OpenStudy (dream95):

I mean 0.018
