Write the complete balanced equation for the reaction between aluminum metal (Al) and oxygen gas (O2). You do not need to make the subscripts smaller; just write them out as regular numbers. For example: O2.

@Preetha Can You Help?

Is It 4 Al + 3 O2 = 2 Al2O3 ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I think you are right! First you have: Al + O2 = Al2O3 Then, when you try to balance the 3 oxygen, you will be unable to do it, and will have to double the coefficients because the only coefficient that will give 3 oxygen is 1.5 and it has to be a whole number. Therefore, 2Al +3O2 = 2Al3O2 You are right!

yay!! Thank you!!
