\(5x+2=1\) missing a y?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
i mean plus 2y
OpenStudy (e.mccormick):
\(5x+2y=1\) OK
Know how to get that into slope-intercept form?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
y=-2.5x + 1/2

Parallel lines have the same slope. So if you get it into slope-intercept, \(y=mx+b\) then anything that has the same slope, or \(m\), is parallel (or the same line!)
OpenStudy (e.mccormick):
So I would leave the slope in \(-\cfrac{5}{2}\) form just because it makes it easier to see the \(\cfrac{\Delta y}{\Delta x}\).
OpenStudy (anonymous):
i got d but im not sure
OpenStudy (e.mccormick):
Now, your slope is negative. That means the left is higher than the right. So b or d... lemme look... I had not even looked at those... over 2, down 5... yep. d.
OpenStudy (e.mccormick):
So that is it. That is all you need to do to answer that type, and you got it right!
