OpenStudy (francis1):

How do the products and reactants of a chemical change compare? The mass of the products is greater than the mass of the reactants because energy is absorbed by the reaction. The mass of the products equals the mass of the reactants because energy is not absorbed or given off by the reaction. The mass of the products is less than the mass of the reactants because energy is given off by the reaction. The mass of the products equals the mass of the reactants because the same atoms are present throughout the reaction.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

1st three inferences are right as we study reactants vs products in stiochiometry either by mass by mass , mass by volume , volume by volume , mole by mole or volume by mole.in the last one mass is compared by no. of atoms if we know the nature of atoms we can convert the number into mole or mass and we do stiochiometry

OpenStudy (aaronq):

law of conservation of mass: the amount of atoms you started with is the amount you end with. you cannot change the number of atoms in chemical reactions.
