10+3 (1+w)
10+3+ 3w 13+3w
I'm just guessing, I'm really bad at math.
How did you get 3w?
you multiply 3 to 1 and 3 to w, which gives you 3+3w
Ok thanks!
no prob :)
its called the distribution property of multiplication a( b + c) = a b + a c
That's what it's called!! I remembered the steps, but couldn't recall the name. Man I'm an idiot.
well the name isnt that important, its the concept that is important
I guess you're right
could you explain this to me please? @completeidiot Im not very good at it
10+3* (1+w) the first step is distributing the 3 using the distribution property 3*( 1+w) is equal to 3 * 1 + 3 * w (the stars are multiplication signs) 3* 1 = 3 and 3*w = 3w so 10 + 3(1+w) becomes 10 +3 +3w
from this step, you need to combine like terms the only like terms we can combine are the 10 and 3 10+3 = 13 so 10+3 + 3w becomes 13 +3w
any questions?
Man you're good at explaining things
no you explained it perfectly thankyou!
@chaylacryder you get better with practice
Good point
and patience, lots of it
That is hard to come by :)
