OpenStudy (wesdg1978):

How do you find the tangent line to the curve F(x)=x^3-25x-1 at x=5 ? Do you first find the derivative? If so, then what?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

if you're looking for tangent line, then you'll have to take the second derivative. Since the first derivative of that is a curve. Once you get the second derivative, you'll arrive with a linear equation. substitute x = 5 into that equation

OpenStudy (wesdg1978):

The second derivative is 6x. So is just y=30 the answer?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Afraid not, the answers I have are A. -55 B. 1 C. 13 D. 15

OpenStudy (wesdg1978):

@Athentsu, I'm not sure where that came from.
