Homeschooled and in need of some help... Which of the following pairs of atoms do NOT exhibit an ionic bond?Answer N and H Li and Br O and Mg F and Cu and Explain the relationship between sugars (glucose) and starches (carbohydrates). Use the terms, monomer and polymer, in your explanation.
I already answered the first part. You can edit the question to cut that part out :)
This one is a different question but the same idea unfortunately
Yes just look in the periodic table which are metals and which are non metals Metal + nonmetal = ionic Nonmetal + nonmetal = covalent http://ptable.com
So N and H because neither are metals??
correct :) that would be a covalent bond
And the second question: Both starch and glucose are carbohydrates. this means that they both consist of carbon, hydrogen and oxygen.
The sugars are monomers which cannot be hydrolyzed further where as the starch can be hydrolyzed of glucose monomer. Hence Starch is polymer made up of combination of glucose monomers.
LOL still finding difficulty
