85.0 grams of potassium bromide are to be used to produce a 0.300 M solution. What will be the total volume of this solution?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

85.0 g/molar mass KBr = moles KBr. M = moles/L of soln. 85.0g/119.0023molesKbr=.7142719 .7142719/.300M=2.3809

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i think that's correct.

u answered the q' yourself

OpenStudy (theeric):

Yep! I believe that's correct - my only discrepancy is the units! 85.0 g/molar mass KBr = moles KBr. M = moles/L of soln. 85.0g/119.0023molesKbr=.7142719\(\qquad\leftarrow\) Instead of molesKBr, it should be g/molesKBr .7142719/.300M=2.3809 And the units of .7142719 are in molesKBr.
