ASA means the triangle were congruent by Angle Side Angle this means, using the example you chose, the two triangle have one similar angle in common and a side in common, and another angle in common. In common is me saying "congruent" So in this order you see an angle, a congruent side, and another angle. This gives it the theorem name ASA

it cant be AAS bc the congruent side lies between the two congruent angles and that's not the order in which it appears.
