Balance and evaluate the following equation: AgNO3 (aq) + PbBr2 (s) yields AgBr (s) + Pb(NO3)2 (aq)

OpenStudy (frostbite):

Try balance with bromide (Br) first then silver (Ag).

OpenStudy (frostbite):

AgNO3 (aq) + PbBr2 (s) = AgBr (s) + Pb(NO3)2 (aq) We start with Br (do not matter which one we start with): AgNO3 (aq) + PbBr2 (s) = 2 AgBr (s) + Pb(NO3)2 (aq) We notice that there are 2 Br on both sides but Ag is now wrong: 2 AgNO3 (aq) + PbBr2 (s) = 2 AgBr (s) + Pb(NO3)2 (aq) Now we can see Ag and Br are correct. But it turns out that Pb, N and O also are balanced, meaning the above equation is balanced.

Thank you very much

No problem.
