HELP! Last algebraic fraction but I can't get solve for x!?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[\frac{ x+1 }{ 2x+6 }-\frac{ 9 }{ x ^{2}-9}=\frac{ x-2 }{ 2x-6 }\]

OpenStudy (espex):

\[\frac{ x+1 }{ 2(x+3) }-\frac{ 9 }{ (x+3)(x-3)}=\frac{ x-2 }{ 2(x-3) }\] \[\frac{1}{x+3}(\frac{ x+1 }{ 2 }-\frac{ 9 }{(x-3)})=\frac{ x-2 }{ 2(x-3) }\] \[2(x-3)(\frac{ x+1 }{ 2 }-\frac{ 9 }{(x-3)})=(x-2)(x+3)\]

OpenStudy (espex):

\[(x-3)(x+1)-18=(x^{2}+x-6)\] \[x^{2}-2x-3=x^{2}+x-6\]

OpenStudy (espex):

Sorry, that should have been \[x^{2}-2x-21=x^{2}+x-6\]

OpenStudy (espex):

-15-3x=0, -3x = 15, x = -5

OpenStudy (espex):

:)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

woah that helped a lot thanks!

OpenStudy (espex):

Check my math, and you're welcome. :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

x = -5 is correct.
