a) 1/(x-3)(x+4) b) 1/(x-3)(x+2) c) 1/(x+4)(x-5) d) 1/(x+2)(x-5)
factor the quadratics and you'll probably see common factors
cancel the common factors and then multiply whats left... thats the answer
First of all I would factorise your polynomials; so: \[[(x+2)]\div[(x-5)(x+2)] \times [(x-3)]\div[(x-3)(x+4)] \] then an 'x+2' will cancel in the first equation and an 'x-3' will cancel in the second, so you get: \[1\div (x-5) \times 1\div(x+4)\] which can be combined to give \[1\div (x-5)(x+4)\] Do you understand?
yes! thank you for explaining it out i got stuck at the second part!
