what is the equation of this grapgh

@jdoe0001

OpenStudy (anonymous):

these are my options (x – 4)2 + (y + 2)2 = 8 (x – 4)2 + (y + 2)2 = 16 (x + 4)2 + (y – 2)2 = 8 (x + 4)2 + (y – 2)2 = 16 i dont see any with both negatives though.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

is it either b or d because 4²=16?

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

the center for the circle is the (h, k) points look at yours :)

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

what's the center for your circle? what's the radius?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

4,-2 ?

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

what about the radius you think?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

16

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i think . beause 4 squared.

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

ohh, so the radius is 4 then :)

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

squared will be 16 yes, thus

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

\(\bf (x-h)^2+(y-k)^2 = r^2\\ \text{(h, k) = (4, -2), radius = 4}\\ (x-(4))^2+(y-(-2))^2 = 4^2\)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so its b ? (x – 4)2 + (y + 2)2 = 16 ..

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

\((x-4)^2+(y+2))^2 = 4^2 \implies (x-4)^2+(y+2))^2 = 16\)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thanks soo much (:...
