OpenStudy (superhelp101):

Which of these statements best proves that electromagnetic forces are weaker than strong nuclear forces? Neutrons do not repel or attract each other when they are in the nucleus. Electrons do not move out of an atom when it forms bonds with other atoms. Protons do not move out of the nucleus of atoms although they repel each other. Atoms do not have any charge on them although they consist of charged particles.

OpenStudy (superhelp101):

@Mertsj I really need your help

OpenStudy (superhelp101):

@Miguel27525 can you help?

OpenStudy (superhelp101):

@happybee can you help me?

OpenStudy (superhelp101):

Do you think you get it? @happybee cuz I really need your help buddy

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Hmm I think this is above my paygrade let me see what I can pull out

OpenStudy (superhelp101):

Thank you @happybee

OpenStudy (theeric):

This question was actually asked earlier. I can give you hints that you would otherwise find online.

OpenStudy (superhelp101):

Yes please if you don't mind

OpenStudy (theeric):

You want to look where there are strong nuclear forces. Look to the nucleus. You also want to see electromagnetic forces. Look to where there would be charge. You want to see the strong nuclear forces counteracting the electromagnetic forces. Any ideas?

OpenStudy (superhelp101):

What you explained seems like B Am I right?

OpenStudy (theeric):

Well, electrons are outside of the nucleus, remember.

OpenStudy (superhelp101):

D I would say right?

OpenStudy (theeric):

Why do you guess D?

OpenStudy (superhelp101):

Idk I eliminated

OpenStudy (superhelp101):

I was stuck with C and D cuz you said it isn't B

OpenStudy (superhelp101):

Tell me why you think

OpenStudy (theeric):

So you ruled out A? And why do you think C or D? I don't give answers. You find them or figure them out.

OpenStudy (theeric):

I'll work with you, but you have to do the work, too.

OpenStudy (superhelp101):

But I need your help though I don't get what it is

OpenStudy (theeric):

But I gave you hints. And then I asked you why you thought what you thought, and you gave no answer. I did tell you what I thought about option B.

OpenStudy (superhelp101):

I searched all on the internet and don't get it

OpenStudy (superhelp101):

Do you think you get it @happybee

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I would say "Protons do not move out of the nucleus of atoms although they repel each other." here is a n article about it http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Strong_interaction

OpenStudy (superhelp101):

Thank you soooooooooooooooooooooooooo much @happybee you're the best!!!!!!

OpenStudy (theeric):

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nuclear_force : "The nuclear force (or nucleon–nucleon interaction or residual strong force) is the force between two or more nucleons." I click "nucleons." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nucleon : "In chemistry and physics, a nucleon is one of the particles that makes up the atomic nucleus." Those are the first sentences of their articles. So strong nuclear forces are in the nucleus. I did hint at that. Maybe what you're missing is the electromagnetic forces. They are caused by existing charges, like positive and negative charges. Like charges repel, opposites attract. The nucleus has positive charges (of protons) and negative charges (of electrons). I hope your teacher has given you that information. It seems like your test is comprehensive.
