I believe the answer is "E". Am I correct?
show your solution
What do you mean? I think it is "e" so.... x less than or equal to 4.
(3/2)x<3+3 3x<12 x<4
SHOW US YOUR SOLUTION WHY YOU PICK E or were you just guessing?
I said I got x is less than or equal to 4. No,I was not guessing. All I wanted was a simple yes or no answer. Not for someone just to give me the right answer. I didnt show work because I was simply to lazy because it takes long to upload my work or to type it
show your solution on how you got that answer
|dw:1375062421598:dw| @nincompoop THERE, ARE YOU HAPPY
| | absolute value means you need two solutions
Oh I see so I need to also do this|dw:1375063670089:dw| @nincompoop
That was why I came on here to get help. I dont appreciate being accused of "guessing". I made a mistake and came on here to see if I was right or wrong, NOT for someone to just give me the answer. I am not like that.
I wasn't sure if you were or you weren't, it's why I phrased it as inquiry.
moving along, what is your answer now after realizing that you needed more solutions?
Sorry I was doing something else. I am confused. I read on that website this: Solve | 2x – 3 | > 5. The first thing to do is clear the absolute value bars by splitting the inequality into two. Then I'll solve the two linear inequalities. | 2x – 3 | > 5 2x – 3 < –5 or 2x – 3 > 5 [this is the pattern for "greater than"] 2x < –2 or 2x > 8 x < –1 or x > 4 so they switched the signs. I did the same so, I was right about getting zero the second time?
yes 4 and 0 the trick is to split the absolute value into two inequalities, then solve as is. This NY High school regents prep exam website is probably less confusing http://www.regentsprep.org/Regents/math/algtrig/ATE2/absinequal.htm
Thank you for everything @nincompoop
