Right. There's no way these two parents could have a Type A child. That means that the mom cheated on her husband, and had that Type A child with someone else.

The alleles are (B) and (b). Those are the letters that we can use. Homozygous means "same," like you said. Heterozygous means "different." The genotype (b b) causes the flies (insects) to turn black.

Right. So now we know the answer to the first question. The parental genotypes are (b b) and (B b).
