First equalise the denominators of the two fractions in the numerator and write them as a single fraction:\[\bf \frac{x}{2}+\frac{x}{3}=\frac{ x(3) }{ 2(3) }+\frac{ x(2) }{ 3(2) }=\frac{ 3x }{ 6 }+\frac{ 2x }{ 6 }=\frac{ 5x }{ 6 }\]Now you can re-write the question as:\[\large \bf \frac{ \frac{ x }{ 2 }+\frac{ x }{ 3 } }{ \frac{ x }{ 4 } }=\frac{ \frac{ 5x }{ 6 } }{ \frac{ x }{ 4 } }\]

Can you finish solving it now? @Deeunicorn3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

is it 3/10 or 1/12

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Deeunicorn3 The first one is close but you made a small mistake which I think I know. When you divide two fractions, this how you evaluate:\[\large \bf \frac{ \frac{ a }{ b } }{ \frac{ a_2 }{ b_2 } }=\frac{ a }{ b } \times \frac{ b_2 }{ a_2 }\]So basically when you divide two fractions, you flip the one underneath and multiply. In this case we flipped a2/b2 so it becomes b2/a2 and then multiplied. You must do the same and you'll realise the mistake you made =]
