Find a cubic function with the given zeros. √6, -√6, -3
(x-a)(x-b)(x-c) is a cubic function with zeros at a,b,c so can you answer this?
No
if the question said Find a cubic function with the given zeros. a, b, c then the answer would be (x-a)(x-b)(x-c) now?
You have to just plug in a,b,c a=√6, b= -√6,c= -3
then distribute to get the original equation.
distributing is not required unless they ask for that type of format
f(x) = (x-a)(x-b)(x-c) is still a cubic function with the given roots
well then its even easier! just plug in the values for a,b,c
:)
the factored form, i believe is called the intercept form .. since its constructed from the intercepts
well lets say the given zeros where 1, 2, 3 --- (x-a)(x-b)(x-c) is a cubic function with zeros at a,b,c so can you answer this? --- then (x-1)(x-2)(x-3) we just plug in. Can you plug in your numbers?
f(x) = x3 - 3x2 - 6x - 18 ? @timo86m
let me dbl check you got (x-a)(x-b)(x-c) Plug in √6, -√6, -3 (x-(sqrt(6))(x-(-sqrt(6)))(x-(-3)) then expand :)
thank youu (:
