I dont understand one bit how to do this, someone please help. Find the point on the terminal side of θ =-3pi/4 that has an x coordinate of -1
maybe something along these lines arccos(-3pi/4) = x = -1 arcsin(-3pi/4) = y
might have to introduce a scalar tho
k arccos(-3pi/4) = -1 k arcsin(-3pi/4) = y
Can you please explain to me the steps i really want to understand how this is done.
you are given an angle. that angle is associated with some cosine and sine value. the cosine value relates to x the sine value relates to y so find those values we would use the inverse functions for them
ok..
and since they are most likely not on the unit circle, it would have to be some scalar version of them
another way to approach this is to recognise the pi/4 is 45 degrees; and that -3pi/4 gets us into the left bottom quadrant.
scalar?
oh ok
