You do work on something when you lift it against gravity. How does this work relate to gravitational potential energy? If the lifted object is released, what becomes of this energy? Be sure to define all terms that you use.

its all about potential energy and kinetic energy u have to explain

when u lift against gravity potential energy of that material increases the movement u release it the stored potential energy will be converted into Kinetic energy

Kinetic Energy is when an object is in motion and Potential Energy is when an object has stored potential energy and when released... or being brought back to it's natural state... it's Kinetic energy.

Um I have a question before I attempt to answer this question... while lifting something against gravity, is it still in a potential energy state or is it gravitational potential energy? Because I understand that if I pick up a bottle of water and put it above my head that it'll be gravitational potential energy because it depends on not only the mass but the height of an object... if it's just sitting on the table it would be potential energy, and if it's above my head... and I drop it that's Kinetic Energy... that's just how I'm grasping it... is that correct at all? Or did I misunderstand anything?
