How do I complete a bromsted lowry equation by placing an acid and base in the correct position when given HCO3- +NO2-= ______(acid)+_____(base)

OpenStudy (chmvijay):

Bronsted lowry says that the molecule which donates H+ is a acid and which receives it is a base

OpenStudy (anonymous):

This may be a stupid question but how do I know which one donates and which one recieves H+

OpenStudy (chmvijay):

Do NO2 have H+? no then there is no chance that it can donate:) only thing is that it can accept hence its BASE and other which given out the proton is acid

OpenStudy (chmvijay):

can u write the balanced equation for this ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no I still don't really understand it I am quite bad at chem

OpenStudy (chmvijay):
