Which of the following is a false statement? A.There is only one way to calculate the surface area of a composite figure. B. There is only one correct answer for the surface area of a composite figure. C.There is more than one way to calculate the surface area of a composite figure. D. The surface area of a composite figure is measured in square units.
May someone help me w/ this answer please. thank you god bless
heh... well, you can pretty easily narrow it down to 2 choices, since they are mutually exclusive. :)
ok wht are the two choices
You tell me.
There are 2 options which CAN'T both be true.
a or d i GUESS
Why? Is it possible for it to be true that "There is only one way to calculate the surface area of a composite figure", and at the same time, for it to be true that "The surface area of a composite figure is measured in square units"?? Or is it POSSIBLE that those two could BOTH be true at once?
If I say "I have exactly one apple. I have more than one apple." Is it possible that those are both true? Or MUST one of them be false? But if I say "I have exactly one apple. The apple is green." Now can they both be true at the same time?
one of them must be flase
I'm not sure which of my questions you're referring to, lol.
At any rate, what I'm trying to say is: of your 4 options a,b,c and d above, two of them are the "flip side" of one another. They are mutually exclusive - they CANT both be true. Therefore, you KNOW that your answer to this question has to be ONE OF THOSE TWO.
a is the flase answer
DebbieG is it a the answer
I think so too. :) It HAS to be A or C - right? Do you see why? They CANT both be true. Although surface area of composite figures is not an area I'm terribly familiar with, I would be skeptical of ANYthing that says "there's only one way to calculate...." something in math. There is pretty much always more than one possible approach to any problem! :)
I agree thnk you so much
You're welcome. :)
