How do two electrons in the same orbital compare in terms of the spin quantum number (ms)?

thomaster (thomaster):

Well... 1 spin quantum number is \(\large-\dfrac{1}2\) and the other is \(\large+\dfrac{1}2\)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So should I put that down as my answer?

thomaster (thomaster):

Well the spin quantum number describes the spin of the orbital. See this image:

thomaster (thomaster):

It's the same orbital but the way the orbital is spinning is different
