why are molecules polar?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Bcoz there is difference in electronegativities of two bonding atoms .. the shared pair of electrons is attracted more towards the more electronegative element ..So there is a partial negative charge on more electronegative element ...and partial positive charge on less electronegative element.. for example.. in case of H-Cl , Cl is more electronegative then H so electrone pair is attracted more towards Cl , Now Cl has a partial +ve charge and H has a partial -ve charge .. Due to these charges molecules are polar. Hope itx Helpfull :)

Not all molecules are polar! :I Isn't it?

You should have asked! Why some molecules are polar!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yupx all molecules aren't polar bcoz non-polar molecules don't have electronegativity difference..
