Vector A⃗ has a magnitude of 3.00 and is directed parallel to the negative y-axis and vector B⃗ has a magnitude of 3.00 and is directed parallel to the positive y-axis. Determine the magnitude and direction angle (as measured counterclockwise from the positive x-axis) of vector C⃗ , if C⃗ =A⃗ −B⃗ . http://session.masteringphysics.com/problemAsset/1445608/2/PLCQ_ArtMs_Topic02_Q06_v2. C = 6.00; θ = 270˚ C = 3.00; θ = 270˚ C = 6.00; θ = 90˚ C = 3.00; θ = 90˚

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ans C = 6.00; θ = 270˚

OpenStudy (anonymous):

why

OpenStudy (anonymous):

because C=A-B =A+(-B) .Now A is in -y direction B in +y direction so (-B) in -y direction now you have to add A and (-B) both are in same direction -y so resultant in -y direction which is 270˚ of +x direction
