If you, personally, have a volume of 55000 cm3 what is your weight in gold? (The density of gold is 19.3 `g/(cm^3)`. I can't figure out how to convert the answer of this into grams
\(\rho=\dfrac{m}{V}\) \(\rho\)=density, btw.
so my answer is 3.509 g?
I orginally did the equation: volumeXdensity=mass and I came out with 55000x19.3, but I don't know how to convert the answer to gram
The answer IS in grams, look at the units.
so the answer is 1061.500grams?
is what you got when you multiplied the two values together?
well I had 1061500 The decimal has to go somewhere
you can't just add a decimal place wherever you want, because 1061500 g=/=1061.500 lol if you need to keep the same decimal places add a zero at the end, 1061500.0 g
if you need to keep sig figs use scientific notation
got it. the answer was simple. I just needed to trust it! :) I'm horrible at math. and this is one of my science questions. thanks!
no problem !
want one more? Can you help me with this? If a plate is moving 5.2 (cm)/(yr), what distance [in kilometers (km)] will the plate move in 1 million years? To solve this problem, you need to convert 5.2 (cm)/(yr) to (km)/(my). (my = million years)
