I am a little stuck on part b. The question shows a picture of a mass spectrum for 1-bromopropane. It then has the following questions: 3a) Identify the species responsible for signals m/z 124, 122, 81, 79, 43 and 29. (Completed) 3b) Write an equation for the formation of each species: So far i have gotten C3H7Br -> [C3H7]^+ +Br(radical) + e- But i am unsure about the rest. Any feedback is greatly appreciated! :)

Yes, well each mass corresponds to the intermediate steps towards the formation. Such as cation formation...and so forth.

yes so for example [C3H7]+ would be 43

The point i get confused at is when you have to write the whole equation, i can get the fragments but not the rest of the equation. So one of the equations would be: C3H7Br --> [C3H7]+, + Br(radical) + e- But what would it be if the fragment was [C3H6Br]+ then what would the other products be?

Would it be [C3H6Br]+ + an e-? or would there be other products too?
