mulitply 6324*.10=x then 6324*0.042=y, the x+y= total amount withheld

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thats not right

OpenStudy (debbieg):

Are you given a separate rate (or amount) for FICA withholding somewhere?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh yeah sorry i completley missed the FICA part. does it say anywhere what that tax rate is?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sorry i lost connection and it say its 4.2%

OpenStudy (debbieg):

The FICA is?? That's the state tax rate. You don't have any info about FICA. And using FICA of 4.2% isn't giving any of the answer choices.

OpenStudy (debbieg):

Income was 6324, so you just need to convert each tax rate to a decimal, multiply by the income, and then add those up. But you must be missing the FICA information (whether it's a rate or a flat amount), that needs to be added in too.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

idk because its not there

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thank you guys though
