compare the number of protons and electrons in each atom and ion. The difference in electron distributions makes all the difference
I don't get it. 29 protons holding 27 electrons in Cu 2+ ion 3d9, 4s0 configuration 24 protons holding 22 electrons in Cr 2+ ion 3d4, 4s0 configuration
that's exactly the reason. the imbalance of proton\electron pull of each nucleus determines which ion will have a larger radius
