OpenStudy (yamyam70):

diphosphorus pentoxide is P2O5 , How many oxygen atoms are present in 5 moles of diphospurus pentoxide ? Is it 25 mol Oxygen ?

OpenStudy (aaronq):

yes

OpenStudy (aaronq):

if they're asking for atoms, though, you have to multiply by avogadro's constant.

OpenStudy (yamyam70):

so if atomms were asked should be 5 x 16 ?

OpenStudy (aaronq):

if it's atoms (of oxygen only) multiply the number of moles (in this case 25) by avogadros number (6.022x10^23)

OpenStudy (yamyam70):

or is this what you call molecular formula?

OpenStudy (yamyam70):

I see :)

OpenStudy (yamyam70):

thanks :)

OpenStudy (aaronq):

yeah, \(P_2O_5\) is the molecular formula. no problem dude
