Indicate the number of protons and neutrons in the following atoms. (a) 112Cd what are the number of protons and neutrons

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Protons: 48 Neurons: 64

*neutrons

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how did you get that?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Find the element on the periodic table and the big number you see is the amount of protons it has. Now that number is also the amount of electrons it has and so you minus the amount of protons it has from the 112 giving you the number of neutrons. p + n = 112.

awesome my next one is 127 I would I look for the I or the atomic number 127?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wow, nevermind lol. also its iodine so its 53 would that be the protons and then subtract 127 by 53 for the neutrons?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Got them!! thanks so much!
