Solve the equation of logarithm.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[\log _{7} \sqrt{7}=x\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it can also written as {log 7 (7)}/2 and log 7 (7) is 1 so x=1/2

OpenStudy (yttrium):

It's also the same as \[7^x = 7^{1/2}\] Now can you solve for x?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thanks guys. but it would helpful if you show the second step please.

OpenStudy (yttrium):

Actually, the answer is already there. Since they have the same base, you can therefore conclude that the exponent x in the left is equal to the exponent at the right. :)
