The first step to solving this type of problem is to first assume that you have 100g of this compound. With this assumption, you can say that there is 54.53g or C, 9.15g of H and 36.32g of O. Convert these mass in grams into moles using their relative atomic mass, and divided the three values by the lowest of the three.
