Thermodynamics Question: Delta U(surroundings) < 0 , but Delta T(surroundings) > 0. Explain how this is possible.

So wouldn't a negative change in internal energy simply point to an exothermic reaction? Then if we put the change in temperature on the absolute scale (Kalvin) it will always be positive right?
