Does using a metal ion with a higher charge during electrolysis lead to the production of more moles of metal? Why or why not? What I'm thinking, is that the stronger the charge, the more it produces, am I right?

OpenStudy (jfraser):

if you plate Cu+1 to Cu(s), then you're using 1 mole of electrons for each mole of copper deposited. If you place Cu+2 to Cu(s), then you're using TWICE the moles of electrons, for the same 1 mole of copper deposited.

Oh, ok, thanks very much!
