Why does the reaction take place at the electrode in daniel cell? in my book it is given that at anode(zinc rod) is placed in solution of znso4 .....and the copper rod(cathode) placed in cuso4 solution ... now my question is why would zn rod react with its own salt -znso4 ...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Is both solution are connected with salt bridge like in Voltaic or galvanic cell ? @croslali

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes ...

please answer fast im despo

OpenStudy (anonymous):

actually you first have to understand galvanic cells .Anyways I try if u cuold understand it .Zinc tends to lose electrons readily than copper so At anode Zn --> Zn+2 + 2e-

could*
