How many grams of water( H2O) have the same number of oxygen atoms as 8.0 (mol) of oxygen gas?
So, I took a look at a Yahoo Answers page with info on this: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20091116134820AAh9ZEs
But I want to actually understand what was going on there.
5.0 mol O2 => 10 moles O moles H2O = 10 mass H2O = 10 mol x 18 g/mol = 180 g
thats an example try using it
Ok so in water, there is 1 oxygen atom in every molecule. Thus, you will need twice the amount of molecules of water as molecules of oxygen gas. Since oxygen gas is made of 2 oxygen atoms. Get it so far?
Wait wait, i think warood's example helps.
But thanks wolfe. You've been helpful every time I posted.
Thank you all very much.
ur welcome wolfe gave a good explanation though :) it would help u understand it more
