what is the net ionic equation of the reaction of FeCl2 with NaOh

For the chemical equation, simply replace the name of each compound with its chemical formula: NaOH + FeCl2 --> Fe(OH)2 + NaCl Balance if necessary. For the net ionic equation, determine which compounds are soluble and insoluble. If soluble, split it up into its component ions: Na(+) + OH(-) + Fe(2+) + Cl(2-) -----> Fe(OH)2 + Na(+) + Cl(-) Since Na(+) and Cl(-) are present on both sides of the equation you can ignore them. Your net ionic equation, then, is: Fe(2+) + OH(-) -----> Fe(OH)2.
