OpenStudy (lukecrayonz):

Logic question, is this inductive or deductive?

OpenStudy (lukecrayonz):

All students are brilliant. Luke is a student. Therefore, Luke is brilliant.

OpenStudy (tkhunny):

Is it vague and possibly lacking clarity or is it sure and decisive?

OpenStudy (lukecrayonz):

My book literally puts all of the examples together and does not specify which is which LOL.

OpenStudy (lukecrayonz):

It's lacking clarity.

OpenStudy (lukecrayonz):

Right?:(

OpenStudy (lukecrayonz):

So thus it's inductive?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well... Wiki says on inductive this: "Inductive reasoning (as opposed to deductive reasoning) is reasoning in which the premises seek to supply strong evidence for (not absolute proof of) the truth of the conclusion. While the conclusion of a deductive argument is supposed to be certain, the truth of an inductive argument is supposed to be probable, based upon the evidence given" Seems deductive then..

OpenStudy (tkhunny):

Looks pretty clear to me. Of course, I don't know Luke personally.

OpenStudy (lukecrayonz):

Oh, I thought it had to have more clarity to it. So I'm guessing it's deductive haha.
