use substitution. rewrite the 2nd equation with z as the subject and then substitute that into the 1st and 3rd equations. you will then have 2 equations with 2 unknowns, which can ba solved by elimination

simplify that equation and you get -3x + 3y = -12 so now you have 2 equations in 2 unknowns -11x - y = 4 equation (4) -3x +3y = -12 equation (5) multiply the 1st equation by 3 and then add to the 2nd equation to eliminate y -33x - 3y = 12 - 3x +3y = -12 --------------- -36x = 0 so x = 0 substitute into equation 4 to find y and subsitute into 4x + z = -5
