Ethylene and chlorine react to yield ethylene chloride, which is a dry cleaning solvent : C2H4 + CL2--- C2H4CL2. How many grams of C2H4CL2, ethylene chloride can be produced by the reaction of 17.5 g of ethylene , C2H4 , WITH 4.84 G OF CL?

OpenStudy (joannablackwelder):

For this problem you would need to do the stoichiometric calculation twice, with both reactant masses. The lesser amount of ethylene chloride calculated would be the maximum amout possible, since that reactant would be used up first.
